OPTONICS Launches XB Series High Precision Press Brakes

New bending line from OPTONICS portfolio gives fabricators one reliable source for cutting and bending

ELGIN, IL., October 6, 2026: OPTONICS, powered by Mazak, today announced the XB series of high-precision press brakes. The XB series extends OPTONICS beyond laser cutting and gives fabricators a dependable, affordable bending solution backed by proven Mazak technology and service.

The XB series is built to bend accurately and quickly while using less energy. It handles everything from high-mix, low-volume jobs to mass production. It comes in 130-, 170- and 250-metric-ton models with bending lengths up to 161 inches. Each model is available with either Euro Style or Wila Style tool clamping.

Key Features of the XB Series

• Speed and productivity - A hybrid drive system uses independent dual servo motors and pumps on the Y1 and Y2 axes. This gives the machine instant power and rapid ram acceleration, with approach speeds up to 9.8 inches per second, to reduce cycle times.
• Accuracy on long parts - CNC-controlled automatic crowning comes standard. Together with a patented distortion compensation device and precise linear measuring scales, it keeps bend angles consistent on large workpieces.
• Flexible setup and easy operation - A servo-driven back gauge positions each sheet precisely and provides exceptional repeatably. It comes standard as a 4-axis system and can be upgraded to 5 axes for more complex parts. Manual and hydraulic tool clamping options cut setup time and keep tools precisely aligned from job to job. SmoothBEND CNC control with a dual touchscreen allows operators to view all bending program data and graphics immediately. For even more productivity, the optional Smart System offline software offers automatic programming and 3D unfolding. It batches multiple parts together to reduce tool setups and keep machine idle time to a minimum.
